Coheed and Cambria “Mother May I” (Official Acoustic Video)

Grab yourself a warm metal cocoa, settle in by the fire and let this new acoustic version of Coheed and Cambria’s classic “Mother May I” wash over you with cozy, holiday feeling. The track, which originally appeared on 2005’s Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, is given the video song treatment as each member of the band performs their section separately, seemingly while being recorded for the final version. This is a style that was popularized by Patreon.com’s founder Jack Conte along with Nataly Dawn and their band Pomplamoose.

Last year we caught up with Coheed and Cambria and I talked with Claudio Sanchez and Josh Eppard about their connection to the prog scene and whether or not they identified with the term progressive.
